ASSAULT
CHRISTIANA: Alfredo Zermeno-Padillas, 29, of Christiana, was charged with assault and five other charges after a domestic incident involving a woman in the area of Noble Road and South Bridge Street at 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 10, police said. Investigators discovered that Zermeno-Padillas had been violent toward the woman multiple times, police said.
DUI
CHRISTIANA: Brian Christopher Burke, 44, of Coatesville, was charged with DUI and five other traffic offenses after failing a field sobriety test and a preliminary breath test after being pulled over on North Bridge Street and Harrison Avenue at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 5, police said. Burke was originally pulled over because his vehicle had several equipment violations, police said.

PICTURED: Fly tipping. Pic: Paul King HEAPS of rubbish bags have been left near a bottle bank in Whitley in the latest instance of fly tipping in the town. The Whitley Street bottle bank area is strewn with piles of litter on the floor as well as an umbrella. Pictures show the mound of bags blocking part of the entrance to the bottle bank facilities. Reading Borough Council (RBC) signs near the site explain that fly tipping is crime which could see a maximum penalty unlimited fine and/or a custodial sentence of up to five years for those prosecuted.

George-Cosmin Jiga, 31, has been charged with three counts of shop theft in connection with a series of incidents at Boots in St Peters Retail Park in Mansfield.
He was charged and remanded into custody on January 23, pending his next court appearance which is to be confirmed.
Another man, aged 34, was also arrested on suspicion of theft in connection with the incidents, he has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
