St. Claire earned the Kentucky Hospital Association Presidentâs Service Award for dedication and perseverance throughout the pandemic, according to a news release.
âWhile hospitals routinely prepare for emergency events, no one could have anticipated the reality of the past year,â said Nancy C. Galvagni, KHA President. âThis special award of merit recognizes Kentucky hospitals who have been on the front lines leading the way in the fight against COVID-19 and the caregivers who have worked tirelessly to provide compassionate care and to ultimately save lives.â
St. Claire began serving as a regional COVID-19 testing site in April 2020. Itâs been administering vaccinations since January.
A majority of Kentuckians favor getting the vaccine against COVID-19, according to a new poll released by the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky.
It found 71% of the 807 adults polled throughout Kentucky said they already have or probably will get the vaccine, Ben Chandler, foundation president, said at a news briefing Wednesday.
And of the 29% who said they probably would not or definitely would not get the vaccine, about half said they might consider vaccination with more time and more information. Kentucky has a shot at herd immunity, Chandler said. We believe there is opportunity here in Kentucky to grow the COVID-19 vaccination rate.
