The last time we heard about at Burlington’s Island Creek Oyster Bar, the team behind the restaurant group had announced it was closing both locations and rebranding the Burlington stop as Row 34, already known in Boston and Portsmouth, New Hampshire for fresh seafood and a progressive beer menu. Now that the new outpost has officially opened for business, we checked in with co-owners Jeremy Sewall and Shore Gregory to see what has changed and what Burlington’s restaurant-goers can expect from the new establishment.
The following interview has been edited for length and clarity.
The last time we spoke, we were talking about changes to the Island Creek Oyster Bar. What has happened since then?
Late in the afternoon of Saturday, June 8, 1946, Boston was struck by a violent thunderstorm. Winds raged at 80 miles an hour, and in one four-minute period a half inch of rain deluged the city. As night fell, there were lightning bolts that came so often and so vividly that it was as if night turned into day. Trees were uprooted, telephone poles were knocked down, and widespread power outages were reported. It was said to have been one of the worst storms of its kind the city had seen in 60 years. Fortunately, the Red Sox game with the Detroit Tigers that afternoon was already over by the time the blast of bad weather hit.

Columbus police file arrest warrant for suspect in Northeast Side apartment shooting
Columbus homicide detectives are asking for the public s help in finding a 23-year-old man accused of killing one man and wounding another in a shooting outside a Northeast Side apartment complex.
Nasear Smith, 23, of South Linden, has been charged with murder in Franklin County Municipal Court in connection with the shooting death early Monday morning of 21-year-old Derek Hoston, of the Northeast Side.
Police were called to the 1700 block of Kenmore Avenue around 12:35 a.m. on a report of a shooting. Officers stopped a car leaving the area and found a 23-year-old man inside with a gunshot wound.
