Hunt, Jr. lifts Morehead St. past Tennessee Tech 57-54

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) KJ Hunt, Jr. and De’Von Cooper scored 10 points each and both made a pair of free throws in the final 30 seconds and Morehead State narrowly defeated Tennessee Tech 57-54 on Thursday night.
Jaylee Sebree added a career-high nine points for the Eagles (6-6, 3-2 Ohio Valley Conference). James Baker, Jr. added 10 rebounds.
Sebree had a layup at the 1:39 mark to put Morehead up 50-49 and a 3-pointer on the next possession. Kenny White Jr. made two free throws for the Golden Eagles at 26 seconds and on the quick foul Hunt made a pair at the line.

Virtual pet adoptions
A pet adoption clinic 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 will feature adoptable local pets in a holiday-themed show.
The event is hosted by Mohawk Honda. Participating area shelters include Saratoga County SPCA and Fulton County Regional SPCA.

Candlelight vigil
EAST BERNE Kenneth s Army, Champions for Children will hold a physically-distanced candlelight vigil at 6 p.m. Friday, December 18, at Thacher Park Road to remember Kenny White at the location of his murder.
On Thursday, Dec. 10, Norton Air Force Base Museum presented a check to a County Fire crew from Station 224 in San Bernardino to help the firefighters in their annual Spark of Love toy drive to provide Christmas gifts for children in need and support for other local nonprofits.
According to Norton AFB Museum President Bob Edwards, the museum has assisted in the firefightersâ annual effort for the past five years.
Spark of Love is a regional toy drive that has taken place annually for the past 28 years to provide toys for children all over Southern California.
The museum was able to make the donation in spite of the museum being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic since March since the museum board budgets the Spark of Love donation and a donation to Maryâs Mercy Center, a San Bernardino homeless shelter, every year. (The museum presented its donation to Maryâs Mercy Center later the same day.
