Norwich midfielder Kenny McLean says he is devastated to be missing Euro 2020 due to a knee injury, in what is Scotland s first appearance at a major tournament since the 1998 World Cup.
The 29-year-old midfielder played in all three of Scotland s recent 2022 World Cup qualifiers, while he also played a key role in Norwich making an immediate return to the Premier League.
Norwich said scans had revealed significant damage to the medial collateral ligament in McLean s right knee.

Analysis of Barnsley s 2-2 draw with Norwich City on the last day of the Championship season.
REDS MUCH BETTER IN GOOD WARM-UP FOR PLAY-OFFS
This game was seen as a perfect warm-up for the play-offs, against a high-quality side who play the possession-based football often employed by the sides Barnsley will face in their battle to reach the Premier League throughout May.
Although they were without key players Teemu Pukki and Oliver Skipp and had already won the title, Norwich provided a stern final day test.
Their squad had been recruited for about £20million – much more than Barnsley s but far less than some of their play-off rivals – while ten of them were full internationals and nine of the starters had played in the Premier League.

Barnsley will play Swansea City in the Championship play-off semi-finals after finishing the league season with a 2-2 draw at home to champions Norwich City.
Cauley Woodrow opened the scoring then, after Norwich levelled within seconds, Conor Chaplin made it 2-1 late in the first half. City levelled again just after the break.
Bournemouth s loss to Stoke City means the Reds moved up one place to fifth and will take on fourth-placed Swansea in the semi-final first leg on Monday May 17 then visit them on May 22.
They finished with 78 points, which is their fourth best ever tally.
The home side delivered a good performance overall, as they were on top in the first half before their visitors had the better chances after the break as the game began to fizzle out.
Drury and Lee-Barrett Released
Saturday, 4th May 2013 06:00
TWTD understands that Andy Drury and Arran Lee-Barrett have been told they will not be offered new contracts by the Blues, while Lee Martin has been handed a new deal on significantly reduced terms. Manager Mick McCarthy met with the members of his squad whose contracts are up at the end of the season over the last few days.
Despite the offer, we understand Martin also seems likely to be on his way over the summer with the club and the player some way apart regarding the terms of a new deal.
Drury became Paul Jewell’s first signing when he joined from Luton for a fee of £150,000 in January 2011. The 29-year-old went on to make 46 starts and 18 sub appearances for the Blues, scoring four goals.
IF St Johnstone overcome St Mirren in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden on Sunday and then defeat either Dundee United or Hibernian in the final on May 22 they will have lifted twice as many major honours in the space or three months as they did in the previous 136 years. Before their Betfred Cup triumph back in February the only significant success the Perth club had enjoyed was their Scottish Cup win in 2014. So the calls for Callum Davidson – who was assistant to Tommy Wright seven years ago when they defeated United 2-0 at Celtic Park - to be crowned Manager of the Year are entirely justifiable.
