Towne Place at Garden State Park, the site of the former Garden State Park racetrack off Route 70, could soon see the development of 140-room lodging, if Cherry Hill Towne Center LLC of Piscataway gets approval for the project, Courier Post reports.
The developer has proposed extending Towne Center Drive out to Haddonfield Rd. to make way for the hotel, on a stretch of land where apartments are currently being built. The plans would be to top the building with a 5,600-square-foot restaurant and bar.
The Garden State Park racetrack closed in 2001, and shortly after was transformed into one of South Jersey s largest shopping and dining plazas, including DSW, Wegmans, Cheesecake Factory, Trader Joe s, Barnes and Noble, and more. It would be easier to think about the stores the shopping center is MISSING than what s already there, lol.
