2021 INDIANAPOLIS SUPERCROSS 2 PRE-RACE REPORT: NBCSN TV BROADCAST IS DELAYED
The fifth round of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross is back inside Lucas Oil Stadium located in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Tuesday, February 2nd. Different than the first three rounds, each of the Indianapolis rounds for the triple-header will feature an all-new track layout each time. The first of the three rounds held in Indianapolis had to be slightly redesigned on race day so that riders would not run into chaos jumping over the first turn again if there was a first-turn pileup. The Indy track would also prove to be very difficult for the riders as the rutted Indiana dirt would create an already challenging track, even harder. We wonder if the track’s new redesign will be favored by the riders and if Dirt Wurx will add more water into the dirt so that it doesn’t chip away like the Indy #1 track.

The fourth round of the Monster Energy Supercross season has finally arrived in Lucas Oil Stadium located in Indianapolis, Indiana. With snowing falling on the pits, the premier class prepares for the Heat races and Main Events. Your fastest qualifier in the premier class was Eli Tomac and the former champion just barely missed the 46 second lap time that no one else was even close to reaching. To put it in perspective how close qualifying was for the 450s, first to twentieth was only separated by two seconds. The lap times were also a little bit shorter than we anticipated because after having a few close calls in the morning, Dirt Wurx decided to change up the layout of the track so that no riders who crash in the first turn get ran over by oncoming traffic. The track is also proving to be very difficult for the riders since the harder dirt mixture chips away faster than the previous three rounds leaving the track beat up by

The 2021 Monster Energy Supercross finally changes locations after a stellar three-round series located in NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Now with the series heading to Indianapolis, Indiana, the fourth round is about to begin as the riders and teams take their week-long break before the gate drops. Something we’ve come to expect with a triple header in Indy is that the track layout will have defined lanes that the track crew will then alternate the direction and turns along with the rhythm sections for each separate round of the series. This gives riders some amount of variation and Dirt Wurx, the track crew, the ability to crunch a lot of changes in a short amount of time.
“It’s a dream come true,” said Doug Pettis. “It’s the exact same thing as if our kid went to the NHL and was playing a game. It’s a lifetime dream. Back 15 years ago a couple of my friends said Jess was just a needle in a haystack and I said yeah, he might be one of those needles in the haystack but you’ve got to give it your best. “We didn’t tell too many people we were going because there’s lots of naysayers out there who figure we’re irresponsible. But when I found that doctors and politicians went to Hawaii… there’s rules and there’s regulations and then there’s Jess at supercross and I just said to Betty, I’m going, and if you want to come, come along.”
