But to get from 50 to 70 percent, the state and its southern region will need to convince hesitant residents to roll up their sleeves. And so far, that is proving to be difficult.
South Jersey’s largest vaccination sites are trying to draw people in by making the process, a couple months ago an exercise in frantic scrolling and refreshing to find even one appointment, more convenient than it has been since vaccinations started in December.
All three South Jersey mega sites and the Camden County College location, which administers as many daily doses as a mega site, have opened walk-in appointments within the past two weeks. It is now possible to just drive up to a site, walk in, take your shot and walk back out in minutes.

“We are seeing significant increases in cargo,” Port Houston Executive Director Roger Guenther said in a statement this week. “As container demand surges across our docks, our terminals remain efficient and free of congestion to provide the best service levels to our customers.”
