South Dakota Corn Receives Conservation Award From The NRCS

4 months ago in Agriculture tomr Photo: WNAX The South Dakota Corn Grower’s Association and Corn Utilization Council at their annual meeting this week were presented with the South Dakota Excellence in Cooperative Conservation Award. NRCS State Conservationist Jeff Zimprich presented the honor to the associations. South Dakota Corn’s Executive Director Lisa Richardson says one of the major issues they’ve worked with NRCS on is soil health. She says Corn grower members have been sequestering carbon in their soil in order to benefit the environment. Richardson says corn growers have also partnered with NRCS and Pheasants Forever to address salinity issues in the state.
