The bandits were said to have defied the Ramadan fast to lunch an attack on some villages around Garkogo but met their Waterloo in the hand of the Mobile Policemen who had laid ambush for them on receiving information about their operation.
The mobile Policemen were those stationed at Garkogo town after ceaseless attacks on the people by the bandits.
The bandits were said to have shot and killed a villager before the Policemen engaged them in a fierce gun battle at about 3:30 in the morning on Saturday.
This is one of the major success recorded by the Joint Security Task Force in the state.

Many of the bandits, DAILY POST gathered, escaped with serious gun injuries, leaving behind their motorcycles.
The mobile policemen were those stationed at Garkogo town after persistent attacks on the people by the bandits in recent time.
DAILY POST also learnt that the bandits shot and killed a villager before the policemen appeared at the scene and engaged them in the fight at about 3:30 in the morning on Saturday.
The success is coming barely three weeks after bandits launched an attack on the camp of the Joint Security Taskforce and klled five soldiers and one Civil Defence Officer at Allawa.

They were apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The Agency’s Director, Media and Advocacy, Mr Femi Babafemi, confirmed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja.
Babafemi disclosed that the the two suspects excreted 191 pellets of heroin and cocaine while under observation.
“During the outward screening of passengers on Ethiopian airline to Italy, NDLEA operatives at Lagos airport intercepted and referred one Chukwudi Destiny for scanning and the scan result proved positive to drug ingestion.
“Consequently, the suspect was placed under excretion observation and in the process; he excreted 92 pellets of Heroin with a total weight of 1.300kg,” he said.
