Luanda, May 25 (Prensa Latina) Angola is a country with which we have strong historic, cultural and fraternal ties, Cuban Ambassador to this African nation Esther Armenteros said on Tuesday.
On Africa Day, she told Prensa Latina, We have kept our collaboration and solidarity in a number of spheres for almost five decades.
Cuba s contribution to Angola s independence was decisive in safeguarding its independence: more than 300,000 internationalist fighters and nearly 50,000 civilian collaborators came to this Western African country for 16 years (1975-1991), she stressed.
She added, At present, we continue doing it with the presence of our collaborators, especially in the health and education sectors.

The fourth session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on economic cooperation has been held in Baku.
Representatives of the relevant agencies from both countries participated at the online meeting chaired by Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for Exports Graham Stuart.
Work done since the third session of the Intergovernmental Commission were reviewed, existing cooperation and opportunities for developing the relations between Azerbaijan and the UK in the fields of energy, renewable energy and energy efficiency, economy, agriculture, transport, communications, environment, education, health, tourism, culture and other fields were discussed at the meeting.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin met with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Ukraine Noel Israel Khokhar to discuss steps to intensify cooperation between the two countries, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry s press service has reported. The parties discussed steps to intensify cooperation between Ukraine and Pakistan in trade, economic, military and technical spheres, the report reads.
During the meeting, the ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan s readiness to deepen comprehensive cooperation with Ukraine, develop high-level bilateral contacts, and update the legal framework.
For his part, Yenin stressed the importance of holding a constituent meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and the next round of political consultations of the foreign ministries in the near future.
