Scrapping of NOC will curb human trafficking

The General Federation of Oman Workers (GFOW) said that a set of legislations and initiatives implemented recently will fundamentally make the labor market in the private sector in the Sultanate more attractive, especially the abolition of the requirement to provide a No-Objection Certificate (NOC). The decision to scrap NOC will undoubtedly contribute to reducing human trafficking and providing more room for the worker to get better job opportunities, said Nabhan al Battashi, chairman of GFOW, in his statement on the occasion of Labour Day on May 1.
He added that the Job Safety Fund launched this year will enhance the principle of social solidarity, and gives protection to the workers of the private sector worker against any risk that may threaten their future job stability, especially during this current critical situation where a number of private establishments have to mass layoffs of
