Australia s men s wheelchair basketball head coach Craig Friday is to also coach the women s side this year.
Friday, who has led the men s side since 2017, takes over from Stephen Charlton at the helm of the women s team.
Australia have qualified for both the men s and women s competitions at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. I am very honoured and excited about this opportunity and thanks to Basketball Australia for allowing me to do both roles, Friday said. This is a great opportunity and together with the support of the quality individuals I will have supporting me across both programmes, we will work extremely hard to achieve success throughout 2021.

1 Related After the game, obviously she s ecstatic and a very joyful person, as I m sure everyone knows, Mills tells ESPN. There was a moment in time of when we were together, where she looked me in the eyes and said, you don t know what you mean to our people . I kind of answered in a way of, oh, I know, I know, I know . And she grabbed me and stared at me back with her serious face now: no, you don t know what you mean to our people, so keep doing what you re doing . That s probably a moment where, you know, it really made me think and go back to the point of, she s right. I think I do, but I don t really think I do.

WABC hold female coaches clinic in the Gold Coast
GOLD COAST (Australia) - The Women in Basketball strategy of FIBA kickstarted basketball activities in Australia with a World Association of Basketball Coaches Clinic (WABC) held in the Gold Coast.
In partnership with FIBA, Basketball Australia, and Gold Coast Basketball, the event initially had over 50 participants registering for the coaching clinic, unfortunately, because of restrictions not everyone was able to attend but it was still able to welcome 36 female coaches. We are pleased with the turnout because despite the lockdown in Brisbane and surrounding areas we were still able to get a good number of participants for the clinic, shared FIBA in Oceania Development Manager, Annie La Fleur.
