This has been the “year of the mamba” for Ashburton resident and member of the Zulu royal family, Siboniso Mncwabe and members of his family.
On Sunday morning Pietermaritzburg snake catcher, Pieter Potgieter was called out to the family smallholding in Kudu Drive to remove a more than two metre long Black Mamba that had made itself cosy in the tool shed.
Mncwabe told
The Witness that as a member of the Royal Family - he is the first grandchild of Prince Gideon Zulu - he and his relatives “don’t get too frantic” when they come across snakes as they frequently go hunting in the Zululand area where there are lots of snakes.
