Google just streamlined the setup process for smart displays and speakers down to about two minutes
The Google Home app offers an excellent interface for controlling lights, speakers, and any other gadgets spread around your house. It s also used for setting up any Nest speaker or smart display. If you ve ever had to set up more than one device at a time, you know how slow and frustrating choosing your default services can be. However, with the newest update to the Google Home app, the setup process just got a little bit quicker.
With the latest version of the app, you can now reuse preferences you ve already set when programming multiple smart devices. Google Home was previously able to keep track of your phone s Wi-Fi connection for a more straightforward setup, but with this new update, it will also remember the third-party services you ve already used for your account. So the next time you upgrade your Nest Hub or pick up a new Nest Audio, it should only take a couple of minute
The Google Assistant is adding new ways to corral your family

Google is adding new Assistant features and tweaking some existing ones to make them more user-friendly, including expanding its Broadcast system. The new Family Broadcast takes the existing functionality – where you can pipe your voice through multiple Google smart speakers and smart displays in the house, useful for announcing meals are ready or reminding people it’s time to leave – and enhances it for smartphones and replies.
So, you can now create a Google Family Group, consisting not only of smart displays like the Nest Hub and speakers like the Nest Audio, but also iPhone and Android smartphones. Saying “Hey Google, tell my family, it’s time for us to hit the road” will broadcast your message across all of those devices in one fell swoop.

Now, if you’ll remember, the Google Pixel 4a was supposed to launch in May last year. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Google delayed the release. The phone eventually dropped in August in just one color.
