MGN Even Google is not above the law, Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum says
SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ) Oregon Attorney General Rosenblum joined a bipartisan coalition of 38 attorneys general Thursday in suing Google LLC for anticompetitive conduct in violation of Section 2 of the Sherman Act.
The states allege that Google illegally maintains its monopoly power over general search engines and related advertising markets through a series of anticompetitive exclusionary contracts and conduct.
As a result, they allege, Google has deprived consumers of competition that could lead to greater choice, innovation, and better privacy protections. Furthermore, they said, Google has exploited its market position to accumulate and leverage data to the detriment of consumers.

SALEM, Ore. Oregon has joined a major anti-trust lawsuit against tech giant Google, alleging that the company employed anti-competitive business practices to build and maintain a monopoly. Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum announced Thursday that she had joined a group of 38 attorneys general in the suit.
The Google suit mirrors an even larger case brought against Facebook just last week, similar in kind, and marks a growing backlash against the increasingly world-shaping power wielded by the largest companies in the tech industry.
