COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Law enforcement officials helped capture a loose zebra in middle Tennessee after it escaped from an exotic livestock auction.
According to news outlets, Cookeville Police Department and Putnam County Sherriff s office assisted Triple W employees capture the âagitatedâ zebra early Friday morning. Cookeville is about 80 miles (128 kilometres) east of Nashville.
The zebra ran onto Highway 111, but was not hurt due to the lack of traffic. Multiple methods were used to attempt to regain control of the animal. At one point, two police officers made âunsuccessful attempts to deploy stun guns to redirect or capture the animal.
A Zebra caused a tizzy in Cookeville, a Tennessee city about 80 miles outside of Nashville, after it escaped from an exotic livestock auction of Friday. The creature dashed down a Highway 111 around 4 a.m., but managed to escape injury due to a lack of traffic at the time.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â One person was injured in a shooting in Cookeville Friday.
Cookeville Police officials say 22-year-old Jonathan D. Ownby of Cookeville was shot in the abdomen. Detectives say three unknown suspects entered a home on the 900 block of Bill Smith Road.
A struggle occurred after the suspects entered the home, leading to the shooting, according to officials. The three suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Ownby was transported to the Cookeville Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. He was treated and released.
