Kuwait City, May 11 : Kuwait will lift the partial Covid-19 curfew starting from the first day of Eid al-Fitr festival, but some activities would remain restricted, the government announced.
At a press conference on Monday, the Kuwaiti government spokesman Tareq Al-Mezrem said the government decided to close all commercial activities from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. starting the from first day of Eid al-Fitr, except for pharmacies, food marketing outlets, restaurants, and maintenance services, Xinhua news agency.

Kuwait Bans Entry for Travellers from Pakistan
After a similar decision by the UAE, Kuwait has added Pakistan to its list of countries whose residents are not allowed to enter it via direct commercial flights, as announced by the Kuwait Directorate General for Civil Aviation (ODGCA).
Kuwait’s suspension list also includes Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. As per the Kuwaiti authorities, the residents of these countries are required to spend 14 days in another country before entering Kuwait.

However, the same principle does not apply to cargo flights that will come and go as scheduled.
According to a statement from the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA, “The decision has come in line with instructions by the Kuwaiti health authorities, considering the contagion status in such high-hazard countries”.

The United Arab Emirates, Thailand and Kuwait have all announced travel bans for travelers originating from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka in a bid to curb the entry of new variants of the coronavirus.
“Flights between the four countries will continue to allow the transport of passengers from the U.A.E. to Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka,” read a statement issued by the U.A.E.’s National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority on Monday. It said the ban would come into effect from May 12 (Wednesday) and would apply to all travelers except for U.A.E. nationals, diplomatic missions, official delegations, Golden Visa holders, and corporate fliers.

KUWAIT: Kuwait Directorate General for Civil Aviation (ODGCA) on Monday suspended direct commercial flights from Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka until further notice, state news agency KUNA reported.
The DGCA, in a statement, said the residents of these countries must spend 14 days in another country before heading to Kuwait.
However, the decision taken by the Gulf state s cabinet does not restrict cargo flights from entering the country. The decision has come in line with instructions by the Kuwaiti health authorities, considering the contagion status in such high-hazard countries, KUNA said.
