A representative from Cheshire East Council made the application to Crewe Magistrates Court yesterday, Thursday. Their complaint was that a number of people, and the vehicles in which they are residing, were present on land in Sanderson Way which is owned by Cheshire East Council. The vehicles included two vans and three caravans, the court heard. The council representative told the court that a notice had been served asking the individuals to vacate the land by May 8, but they did not and, to the best of his knowledge, they were still on the land. Magistrates heard how the council was concerned for the travellers safety, as the land was just outside an industrial estate with close proximity to HGVs.
