The majority of parents and teachers are on opposing sides when it comes to high schoolers returning to in-person education this spring, a survey presented at the Lee County Board of Education meeting on Tuesday showed.
While the majority of high school parents, 58.2%, want their children to return to classrooms at least one or two days a week, 66.1% of high school teachers feel âuncomfortableâ or âvery uncomfortableâ resuming face-to-face instruction, according to the survey presented to the board by Chris Dossenbach, assistant superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction. The district surveyed 949 teachers and 3,575 parents across grade levels from Nov. 23-Dec. 7, including 410 parents who answered a Spanish-language survey.
