GLOVERSVILLE – Gloversville Police Tuesday advised of suspected drugs found in altered candy in packages during a recent arrest.
“The City of Gloversville Police Department is releasing the following information to alert the public as to a method which suspected narcotics were recently discovered to be packaged,” police wrote in a release.
The discovery came during a recent arrest where two individuals were found in possession of “Skittles” brand candy packages.
Closer inspection of the packages revealed them to have been opened, tampered with and resealed with tape. The original contents had been partially removed and replaced with purple capsules.

GLOVERSVILLE One arrest has been made in an armed robbery case that took place on March 7, in which police are also looking to identify a second person who was allegedly involved.
Lionel Lebron, 35, of Gloversville was charged on Friday by the Gloversville Police Department with first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny.
Police are also requesting the public’s help in identifying the person depicted in the photograph who was allegedly involved in a gunpoint robbery on March 7 at a residence in the city.
“Our investigation is only leading to only two suspects. The one suspect has already been arrested, the other suspect who we released the photo of is outstanding at this point,” said. Lt. Brad Schaffer.
