Yaphet Kotto died this week at 81. The 1973 James Bond outing âLive and Let Dieâ was how I came to know him. At age 12, I remember hating that movie, and at the risk of sounding more enlightened than I was, the white smoothie vs. Black scum storyline creeped me out, even then.

Frank P. “Firdy” Fernandez Jr., age 92, of Gloversville, passed away January 30, 2021, one day prior to his 93rd birthday. He was born in Gloversville, on January 31, 1928, son of Frank Sr. and Bertha (Catanzaro) Fernandez.
He was a 1946 graduate of Gloversville High School, where he enjoyed being the manager of the basketball team. Thereafter Frank married the love of his life, Anna DeSantis on June 18, 1950. They raised three children together. He worked in the leather industry and then became the Superintendent of the monitoring stations for the Gloversville-Johnstown Joint Wastewater Treatment Facility in Johnstown until his retirement in 1993.
After retirement, Frank and Anna enjoyed spending their winters in Florida where he enjoyed fishing and soaking up the sun. Tyson started off the interview by sharing photos of herself as a child, while she was growing up in New York City.
She said a woman stopped her mother on the street when she was a baby and made a prediction about her saying, Take care of this child. She has a sixth sense. She s going to make you very proud one day and she will take care of you in your old age.
