COLD WEATHER PAYMENTS are available to certain people to help with the cost of heating through the winter. But can pensioners get cold weather payments? Who can claim cold weather payments?
The postcode which has been triggered is ZE1-3.
This means any eligible person for the payment who lives in the postcode can now expect to receive £25.
It will cover the period of very cold weather which was recorded as being from February 3 to February 9.
Baroness Stedman-Scott said: “Keeping warm throughout the winter is hugely important to staying healthy, which is why we pay to help heat homes when there’s a sustained cold snap.

“As well as Cold Weather Payments, we also run the Warm Home Discount Scheme and Winter Fuel Payments, so we have a number of schemes in place to help.”
The plummeting temperatures are being felt more than ever too, as Britons are told to stay at home during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown.
Not only that, but the restrictions mean millions have been hit financially since the COVID-19 pandemic first began.
As such, energy bills will certainly be a huge worry right now.
There may be help available for some people however.
