Well, here we are. Itâs Christmas Eve. Itâs hard to believe weâve made it through this year. I know for me itâs been very hard to get into the Christmas spirit. Iâve even tried putting my tree up before Thanksgiving. It helped a little.
Needless to say, Iâve been feeling âGrinchyâ but decided I would go ahead and watch the Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Live Holiday Concert on CBS this past week.
If youâve ever read any of my articles you know how much of a fan of Garth that I am. However, the queen of country music, Trisha Yearwood is where the âlittle girlâ in me comes out.
Singer Stacey Ryan and LA-based rapper Charlie Curtis-Beard performed the duet on TikTok
Stacey sang the woman s part, and Charlie later add the man s verses
Instead of the traditional lyrics, he substituted the words with a soothing rap
As Stacey repeats that she has to go but then talks herself out of it, Charlie offers to call her an Uber and let her use his phone charger if her phone has died
He repeatedly tells her he respects her and they won t do anything she doesn t want to do
The original song, written in 1944, has recently become controversial with critics saying it s about date rape
