QUETTA: Five suspected militants were killed during an operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Hazar Ganji area here on Monday night.
A spokesman for the CTD said the department had conducted the operation in the Killi Gulzar area of Hazar Ganji, a locality on the outskirts of Quetta, along with other law enforcement agencies, on information about the presence there of the terrorists.
The security personnel cordoned off the area and asked the armed militants to surrender but they opened indiscriminate fire. The security personnel returned fire, resulting in the killing of five militants. The heavy exchange of fire continued for around two hours.

QUETTA: A BLA terrorism plot in Quetta was foiled by the CTD when they conducted an intelligence based operation against the terrorists’ nest, killing five terrorists in Killi Gulzar, Hazar Ganji in the jurisdiction of PS Shalkot, District Quetta, on Monday night, the Quetta Police spokesman said and added arms and explosives were recovered from their possession.
The CTD Police received actionable intelligence about the presence of a large group of BLA terrorists in Killi Gulzar, Hazar Ganji, planning to attack a sensitive installation. In pursuance of the information, the CTD Police mounted a swift operation and on reaching the terrorist hideout, challenged the Baloch subnationalists to surrender.

LAHORE: Most sacrificial animal markets, including the one at Shahpur Kanjran – the largest in Lahore organised by the divisional cattle market management company, started functioning on Sunday, attracting a considerable number of buyers.
