Man killed, two sons among three injured in Jackson shooting

A man was killed and three others were wounded in an incident of firing on Tara Chand Road in the Jackson area on Sunday.
The Jackson police said the casualties were taken to the Civil Hospital, where one of them sucumbed to his injuries. The deceased was identified as 65-year-old Haji Gul Khan, son of Ibrahim, while the injured included his two sons Imran, 24, and Sajjad, 25. Police said the incident took place over a personal dispute. No case had been registered till the filing of this news story on Sunday night.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, while reviewing the arrangements of the upcoming Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN-21 being hosted by the Pakistan Navy, directed all the civic bodies to give a festive-kind of a look to the city.

The Pakistan Navy is set to host the multinational exercise from February 11 to 16, 2021, in which over 46 countries would participate. âThe main objective of the exercise is to enhance the positive image of Pakistan on the global level,â said the CM. The theme of the event is `Together For Peaceâ.

PECA, which is seen as the draconian tool to silence free speech, criminalises any speech considered to be blasphemous and even those who criticise state institutions.
Recently, a new section was added in PECA stating that those who intentionally ridicule, bring into disrepute or defame the Armed Forces of Pakistan will be sentenced upto two years and be fined over USD 3,018.
