A Connecticut man who was being pursued following a carjacking repeatedly stabbed himself in the neck as police attempted to take in into custody.
The incident began around 3:24 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, when Hartford Police were notified by the Farmington Police Department, that two individuals they had active felony arrest warrants for, were operating a carjacked vehicle in the south end of Hartford, said Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert.
Hartford Police assisted Farmington Police in canvassing the area. At approximately 3:24 pm, the suspect vehicle was observed entering the gas station at 867 Wethersfield Avenue.
The male suspect, identified as David Michael O’Brien, 30, of Farmington, entered the business. Detectives entered the business to make contact with O Brien, Boisvert said.
Greenfield man arrested for Hartford murder

HARTFORD, Conn. A Greenfield man has been arrested and accused of a Jan. 29 murder in Connecticut’s capital.
Jordan Register, 21, of Chapman Street, was taken into custody in Springfield by the Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Unit and Springfield Police Department without incident on Thursday and is being held as a fugitive from justice while awaiting extradition to Hartford. He is being held on a $1.75 million bond.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert, public information officer with the Hartford Police Department, patrol officers responded to the Webster Street area on a report of a gunshot victim at 9:31 p.m. on Jan. 29. The victim, later identified as Michael Dudley, 27, of Main Street in Springfield, was located in the rear lot of 12 Webster St., with a gunshot wound. Attempts to save Dudley’s life were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
