Priti Patel visits the Calvert Trust in Bassenthwaite
The Home Secretary was welcomed to Cumbria by an MP and the county’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
Priti Patel was greeted by Workington MP Mark Jenkinson and Cumbria Police and Crime Commissioner Peter McCall, to the Calvert Trust in Bassenthwaite.
The Calvert Trust enables disabled adults and children, together with their families and friends, to achieve their potential through the challenge of outdoor adventure in the countryside.
The Home Secretary visited the area to show her support for Peter McCall ahead of the upcoming Police and Crime Commissioner elections in May.

BY-ELECTION: Candidates for Furness Peninsula Election candidates have outlined their hopes for the Furness Peninsula ahead of the public going to the polls. Although the Cumbria County Council elections have been rescheduled to 2022, there are still seats on South Lakeland District Council that remain vacant – with by-elections to be held on May 6.
