RCMP Major Crime Unit North investigating homicide in Estevan

An autopsy was completed on June 8, 2021 in Regina and Galido’s death is considered a homicide. Cause of death will not be released as it is part of the ongoing investigation. Initial investigation has determined Galido was last seen at a business off Highway #39 in Estevan on June 4, 2021 at approximately 10:00 p.m. Investigators are working to establish a timeline of: · when and where Mr. Galido was last seen between 10:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4 and when he was discovered deceased on Monday, June 7. · any suspicious activity on the 800 block of Henry Street in Estevan between Friday, June 4 and Monday, June 7.

RCMP lay aggravated assault charges

Prince Albert Daily Herald (Submitted photo/RCMP) On Sunday morning around 12:40 a.m., North Battleford RCMP and EMS responded to a complaint of an assault at a residence at Saulteaux First Nation. A 28-year-old male was located inside the residence and transported to hospital with serious injuries. As a result of initial investigation, RCMP Major Crime Unit North were called in. Later the same day 19-year-old Mitchell Night of Saulteaux First Nation was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault, section 268 of the Criminal Code in relation to the above complaint. Night made his first court appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, he will next appear in court via video at 11:00 a.m. on May 19.

On May 16, Mitchell Night, 19, of Saulteaux First Nation was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault, section 268 of the Criminal Code in relation to the above complaint. PRINCE ALBERT Red Dress Day is bittersweet for Krista Fox. She’s a close friend of missing woman Ashley Morin’s family and a Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) advocate. While the fifth of May is another day to spread awareness about the issue, it also unlocks a lot of hurt. “Everybody’s sharing, and we want that. We want Ashley’s face out there, but the pain that comes along with it is really tough,” said Fox through tears. Morin, who is from Ahtakakoop Cree Nation west of Prince Albert, was last seen in North Battleford on July 10, 2018. RCMP is investigating her case as a homicide.

UPDATE: In Hyas sudden death

The adult male’s identity has now been confirmed and his family has been notified. The investigation undertaken by the RCMP Major Crime Unit – North, Kamsack RCMP, and Saskatchewan Coroners Service determined no foul play was involved in his death.  Since the death is not suspicious in nature, no further updates will be released with regards to this investigation. © Copyright Yorkton This Week
