LARGO â Pinellas County Sheriffâs Office detectives arrested a 35-year-old Largo man about 1:15 a.m. Jan. 23 on one charge of sexual battery on a minor.
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit found out about an investigation in July 2020, after a female victim reported she had been sexually battered on multiple occasions by Steven Homol. According to the victim, the abuse began in December 2018 when she was 13 years old.
Detectives say Homol and the victim worked together. While at work, Homol would force the victim into the bathroom, sexually batter her, and threaten physical violence against the victim if she notified anyone. The victim told detectives that Homol sexually battered her on multiple occasions.

The MHC was formed in 1999 when seven people were fatally shot at Wedgwood Baptist Church in southwest Fort Worth.
Utah Man Beats 11-Year-Old With Metal Bar Over Poor Grades

A man in Utah has been arrested after allegedly beating his 11-year-old child with a metal bar. The man told police he lost it after finding out his child was failing in class.
Police were alerted on Tuesday about the child, who had been brought to Intermountain Medical Center with numerous contusions. The child told an officer their father became upset after showing him their grades. The man has not been named to protect the identity of the child.
The man from West Valley City reportedly grabbed a silver metal bar, telling his child to put out their hands because they were going to get a whooping.
LARGO â Pinellas County Sheriffâs detectives arrested a 36-year-old Largo man Jan. 11 at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in Pasco County on one charge of capital sexual battery of a child under age 12.
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit learned of the crime on Jan. 1 after the victim told a friend about ongoing abuse. The victimâs friend told their parents who called the sheriffâs office to report it.
Crimes Against Children detectives and Child Protection investigators met with the witness and her parents at the Sheriffâs Administration Building where they learned what the victim said. Later, detectives, patrol deputies, and child protection investigators met with the victim and learned the details of the allegations.
PALM HARBOR â A 38-year-old Palm Harbor man was arrested at his home about 5:50 p.m. Jan. 7 and his 37-year-old wife was arrested about 3:28 p.m. Jan. 8 in connection with an investigation of child neglect of the coupleâs twins.
Adam Thomas Thayer was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on two counts of child neglect. Bail was set at $10,000. He was released on surety bond about 3:36 a.m. Misty Mitchell-Thayer also was charged with two counts of child neglect. No subject charge report was available.
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit began an investigation on Dec. 29 after receiving information alleging Misty and Adam Thayer were providing alcohol and marijuana to a 17-year-old female and her friends at their residence in Palm Harbor.
