We need to have a voice : Restaurateurs sue Gov Newsom over outdoor dining closures

We need to have a voice : Restaurateurs sue Gov. Newsom over outdoor dining closures FacebookTwitterEmail Upset with the state s decision to shut down outdoor dining this past December, a consortium of over 50 restaurants, wineries, tasting rooms and suppliers across Napa and Sonoma counties has filed a lawsuit Tuesday against California Gov. Gavin Newsom, The Chronicle reported. The group of restaurant owners says there is no rational basis for the ban on outdoor dining, calling December s order arbitrary, irrational, and unfair. Pointing to the lack of scientific evidence stating that outdoor dining furthers the spread of COVID-19 among other issues with the ban the lawsuit says December s shutdown order constitutes a violation under the California Constitution s equal protection and due process.
