Jan 22, 2021 GRAND FORKS – The North Dakota Department of Transportation has announced it is partnering with the Northern Plains UAS Test Site and other major players in the commercial Unmanned Aircraft Systems industry to execute the goals of the Federal Aviation Administration’s BEYOND program. These partners include: – Airspace Link, an FAA-approved UAS service supplier of Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability, focused on meeting the needs of state and local governments and ensuring UAS pilots can make informed decisions; – Equinor, an energy company developing oil, gas, wind and solar energy in more than 30 countries, including a strong presence in North Dakota;

Geospatial World 01/22/2021 2 Minutes Read Northern Plains UAS Test Site (NPUASTS) and the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) announced 8 partners for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s BEYOND program. These companies which are major players in the drone industry, will work in North Dakota to execute the goals of the program. It is also a part of the next phase of the UAS Integration Pilot Program (IPP). BEYOND has â€œa particular focus on operations beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) of the operator that are repeatable, scalable, and economically viable,” says an ND DoT press release. “These efforts will be bolstered by Vantis, North Dakota’s UAS Network, which is designed to enable real-world BVLOS flights without extreme barriers to entry.”
