Thurrock Covid vaccine take-up revealed | Braintree and Witham Times

A fifth of people aged 45 and over in Thurrock have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures reveal. NHS data shows 24,488 people had received both jabs by April 25 – 18% of those aged 16 and over, based on the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics. Of those to have received both jabs, 21,051 were aged 45 and over – 32% of the age group. It means 3,437 people aged between 16 and 44 have received both doses. The figures also show 75,460 people in Thurrock have received at least one jab – 56% of those aged 16 and over. It comes as the Government announced an extra 60 million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus jab have been secured for a booster vaccination programme in the autumn.

ONE in every nine three-year-olds in Cumbria has rotten teeth, a survey suggests. Public Health England data shows that 10.7 per cent of children surveyed in Cumbria over the last two school years had experienced some form of dental decay. However, figures show the oral health of pre-schoolers in Cumbria has improved since the survey was first carried out by PHE in 2013. That year, 12 per cent of children had tooth decay. Those surveyed in 2019 and 2020 were among 3,300 three-year-olds across the North West to be examined, where 13.7 per cent of children had rotten teeth on average.Across England as a whole, 10.7 per cent of three-year-olds had reportedly experienced tooth decay, the report revealed.
