The UCI reinforces rider safety and its commitment to sustainable development 02/05/21 The Management Committee of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) met on 3 and 4 February. With travel restrictions still in place worldwide because of the health crisis (coronavirus pandemic), the meeting of the Federation’s executive body again took place by videoconference, and not during the recent UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Ostend (Belgium) as originally planned. The UCI Management Committee approved a plan to improve rider safety, approved a new strategy for sustainable development, awarded the UCI Bike City label to new cities and regions, and attributed the organisation of several events.

Second competition day in Feldberg cancelled Freesyle 31 Jan 2021 © GEPA Despite all efforts by the incredible crew of the organizing committee of Feldberg, which was already on the track since midnight to do everything in their power to save the second competition of the weekend, in the end the snow on the course was too soft to allow for safe race conditions. The whole morning, the tireless volunteers, course builders, shapers and all parties involved worked as hard as they could, but weather odds were not on the ski cross side on Sunday. Additionally, strong fog caused a bad visibility, which added to the complications to hold the race. As a result, the second competition day in Feldberg had to be cancelled.
