The time has come to say goodbye to the FTSE/JSE Gold Mining Index By Dineo Faku Share JOHANNESBURG - THE JSE TERMINATED the FTSE/JSE Gold Mining Index in line with its move to international standards of classification as South African stocks delivered another quarter of double-digit growth in the first quarter of 2021. Other sub-sectors to be decommissioned are the FTSE/JSE Coal Mining Index, the FTSE/JSE Diamonds & Gemstones Index, the FTSE/JSE Platinum & Precious Metals and the FTSE/JSE General Mining Index. “Due to these sub-sectors not forming part of one sector anymore, FTSE/ JSE will decommission the five above mentioned ICB Sub-sector Indices following the implementation of the enhanced ICB structure,” said the JSE.

Agility partners with Qatar Airways Cargo, UNHCR for medical donation Dubai, UAE, 1 hours, 39 minutes ago Agility, a leading global logistics provider, has donated the transportation of nine tonnes of medical materials from China to Uganda for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, in partnership with Qatar Airways Cargo.    The donation, through One Million Kilos, Chapter 1 of Qatar Airways Cargo’s sustainability program “WeQare” included more than 50,000 surgical kits to be used at hospitals and medical centres in Kampala, Uganda. In China, Agility’s teams received, inspected and packaged the materials for export. The cargo was flown to Kampala, Uganda, by Qatar Airways Cargo; upon arrival, Agility facilitated customs clearance and delivered the goods to UNHCR.
