MUNCIE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) Muncie-based First Merchants Corp. (Nasdaq: FRME) is reporting full-year net income of $149 million in 2020, down from $165 million the previous year. Chief Executive Officer Mark Hardwick says the bank faced significant headwinds and challenges, largely due to the pandemic.
Hardwick says, despite the challenges, the bank was able to help more than 5,200 customers through the Paycheck Protection Program.
“We grew loans by 9.2%, deposits by 15.5%, processed over 2,700 loan modifications and donated an additional $1 million to COVID relief efforts in our communities,” said Hardwick. “Executive management expects 2021 to be a year of increasing momentum as the vaccine helps reopen our lobbies and allows us to repopulate our offices while growing our customer base.”

Leaders from the Santa Barbara County Fire Chiefs Association came together recently to create three workgroups with the goal of addressing major fire safety concerns on a regional level.

Resolution Thanking 4th district Supervisor Peter Adam for his Service County of Santa Barbara
Fourth District Supervisor Peter Adam was sent off into private life Dec. 15 by a steady stream of Santa Barbara County current and former department heads and elected officials who praised his straightforwardness, honesty and focus on his goals.
Seventeen people spoke in the Board of Supervisorsâ afternoon session devoted to Adamâs sendoff, which included a resolution commending his eight years on the board and several parting gifts, from rose-colored glasses and a bank with unicorns and rainbows from a fellow supervisor to his own county park sign and a humidor and box of fine cigars from the county staff.
