The Hunt County Commissioners Court intends today to choose the next County Judge Pro Tem.
The panel may also take another look at providing emergency funding to various agencies that have been affected by the COVID-19 situation.
The regular session is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. today in the Auxiliary Courtroom, 2700 Johnson St. in Greenville. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the commissioner s meeting will be conducted via telephone and/or video conference and streamed at www.huntcounty.net/page/hunt.health services.
Former Precinct 1 Commissioner Eric Evans had served as the Hunt County Judge Pro Tem. Evans was appointed by the commissioners in January 2019, after the death of former CountyJude John Horn.

The officials who will be taking the office for the first time will include a new sheriff, county commissioner, county attorney and county court at law judge No. 2. But unlike previous years, they wonât be sworn in during a single ceremony on Jan. 1.
Amanda L. Blankenship, executive administrative assistant for County Judge Bobby Stovall said, as has been the case with so many events being canceled during the year, the virus was responsible.

New Zealand super saloon champion Sam Waddell doesn t need to think too hard to recall how many times he s carried the prized 1NZ race number into the dirt track battlegrounds.
At 22, Tauranga s Waddell became the youngest champion in the class in February.
Since then, after a Covid-shortened 2019/20 racing season and a damaged engine first time out at Baypark Speedway this summer, Waddell has only raced his title-winning car three times.
He ll be making up for lost time this weekend at Baypark Speedway, facing starting deep in the pack when the Barry Muir s Furniture Gallery Super Saloon Car Series races to its conclusion.
