Skills & Training Workforce Support Fund - Up to £27,000 (per employee) Date published: 27 January 2021 Rochdale Training has secured Government funding to support employers to develop their workforce in 2021 Rochdale Training is reaching out to employers across the Rochdale Borough, Greater Manchester, and the North West to understand what skills and training support they can offer in these difficult times. The training provider, based on Fishwick Street, Rochdale, has recently secured substantial Government funding to support employers to develop the workforce throughout 2021. Known as the Skills and Training Workforce Support Fund, this funding will allow Rochdale Training to meet the training needs of employers directly affected by Covid-19.

Deer spotted wandering in Bolton estate during snow shower

A HERD of around 20 deer were seen wandering around a Bolton housing estate for more than an hour during a snow shower this week. The animals were spotted on the Oldhams estate in Astley Bridge as the snow fell heavily at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, January 20. The deer took advantage of the quiet streets for their urban wintry wander. The area is close to the Smithills estate and the woodland and moors there are thought to be their more natural habitat. They were captured on CCTV by householder Mark Whittaker, who observed them for around an hour from his home near Barlow Park.

Local businesses wear their Woollies to Work for Springhill Hospice Date published: 19 December 2020 Salt Separation Services in their winter woollies outfits Springhill’s Wear Your Woollies to Work campaign was celebrated across the borough on Friday 11 December, as 14 schools and nurseries participated, as well as 15 local businesses and care facilities joining forces to support the local service. Springhill Hospice encourages residents and businesses to take part in their Wear your Woollies to Work campaign every December, to help Springhill provide vital end of life care for patients in the local community. So far this year, Wear Your Woollies has raised over £5,000 for the hospice, and the figure is still growing.
