A Melbourne woman will spend at least five years in prison for fatally stabbing her partner in the chest after he called her names.
Bree Dellamarta killed 55-year-old old Mark Ward at her Heidelberg West home in the middle of the night in January 2020.
She had been upset about how much time Mr Ward was spending at her place, instead of his own, and told police he called her abusive and hurtful names.
Dellamarta, who has an intellectual disability and cannot read or write, was jailed in Victoria s Supreme Court on Tuesday for a maximum of seven-and-a-half years.

Sinn Féin TDs Ruairi Ó Murchú and Mark Ward have passed the first stage of a bill in the Dáil that will see money seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) put back into disadvantaged communities.
Parts of Louth have been ripped apart from drug use over the years and the bill they are proposing will require the Minister for Finance to carry out a review of the financial supports required for disadvantaged communities affected by crime.
The first Shelby County criminal jury trial in more than 13 months was recently called off.
Twenty-one-year-old Bryan Felix was accused of robbery and was scheduled to become the first person to go on trial in a state-level criminal court in Shelby County since March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic led to lockdowns.
Court personnel were planning to start the trial Monday before Criminal Court Judge John W. Campbell. The trial was to take place in one of two brand-new, spacious courtrooms with plastic barriers and other features designed to reduce the spread of the new virus.
