The Chatham-Kent vaccination team remains on schedule to give second doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the first people jabbed at the Chatham clinic.
Those who received their first dose Feb. 22 to Feb. 28 can now book appointments for June 16 or later.

“We’re totally on track to get those done,” said Dr. David Colby, Chatham-Kent’s medical officer of health. “I’m not concerned at all that there will be delays beyond the 16-week mark with regard to the boosters.”

One of our newspaper pals, Dave Dutton, was lost to COVID-19 at age 69, the last 28 years of which we worked in the same building. He was, as they say, a caution.
Before it actually killed him, the virus ruined him â stealing his retirement dreams, his hopes in a brand new house, his carefree time with family â in a month-long descent that must have been absolutely harrowing.

One person has been charged in connection with an anti-lockdown protest in Chatham and more likely will be, Chatham-Kent’s top administrator says.
Chief administrative officer Don Shropshire did not have any information Thursday on the first protest-related charge, but he said “there are other charges expected, so that’s not the end of it.”

“You can expect those charges will be laid over the coming weeks,” he said.
Messages left Thursday with three other municipal officials about the latest charge were not immediately returned.
