Tredegar man punched ex after she refused to take cocaine A MAN punched his ex-girlfriend and scrammed her face after she had taken pity on him. Convicted drug dealer Ryan Thomas, 25, attacked his former partner when she took him in following her concerns over his crack cocaine use. Julia Cox, prosecuting, said the defendant had lashed out at the woman after he had tried unsuccessfully to get her to take the class A drug. By attacking his ex, Thomas was in breach of a suspended prison sentence for possessing cannabis with intent to supply in 2019. Cardiff Crown Court heard how the couple had been in a four-year relationship which had recently ended.

Trump-endorsed South Carolina GOP Chair Drew McKissick won reelection, defeating lawyer Lin Wood for the GOP state chairmanship Saturday after the party had conducted the largest reorganization in the state’s history.
McKissick will remain SCGOP chair for another term after winning reelection at the 2021 state convention. Recently, the state party underwent its largest reorganization, with this one notably being the largest.
After McKissick’s victory, he said in a statement, “Thanks to the grassroots activists across the state, the SCGOP is stronger than it’s ever been.”
He later added, “We’ve proven we have a winning coalition of conservatives who are committed to beating Democrats, and I’m honored they’ve chosen to reelect me to lead that fight. Now we can roll up our sleeves to continue what we do best–win elections.”

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Saturday morning, party delegates from across the state re-elected South Carolina Republican Chairman Drew McKissick to another two-year term.
McKissick defeated challengers Michael LaPierre, Mark Powell, and Lin Wood.
Wood’s challenge brought national attention to the race, given his success with a confrontational style and support of conspiracy theories.
Wood came in second with 239 delegates, at 27.9% of the vote.
