(WBNG) The United States Department of Agriculture announced schools can continue serving free meals to all students through June 2022. Broome-Tioga BOCES officials tell 12 News the 15 district superintendents held a call and said there is unanimous support to opt into the program. Officials say food security in schools has never been better. Through Nourish NY, through USDA, through all of our schools, everyone has done a tremendous job ensuring our students have the food they need. The Food Bank of the Southern Tier, tremendous job. I think as a community I think we really rallied around making sure our kids had the nourishment they needed, said Mark Bordeau, Broome-Tioga BOCES Senior Food Services Director.
