Department of Energy Authorizes Battelle Savannah River Alliance to Begin Transition to Manage Savannah River National Laboratory

The Battelle Savannah River Alliance (BRSA) team has received a Notice to Proceed with Transition after it was selected by the Department of Energy in December to manage one of the country’s premier environmental, energy, and national security research facilities the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL).

The council was still predicting an overall revenue drop in its parking account of $636,000 by the end of June, when free parking was set to end. If councillors decided to continue free parking, it could mean a 1 per cent rates increase to balance the account s deficit. Marlborough Mayor John Leggett said at an assets and services committee meeting last week, when presented with the latest report, the council did not want to rely on parking fines to balance out its free parking.

City leaders decide to reinstall traffic signals after they re taken down to move a house. Council members cited safety concerns as the reason to put the lights back.
January 26, 2021 - 10:22 AM City crews will reinstall stoplights at U.S. 54 (Madison Avenue) and Buckeye Street after they come down to move a house. City leaders debated whether to keep them down but ultimately agreed with those concerned about safety if the lights were removed.

ARRESTS: The murder scene on December 12 last year POLICE investigating the murder of a man in Cotheridge have made two arrests. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder by police investing the death of Neil Parkinson. The 30-year-old, from Wichenford, was arrested by West Mercia Police this morning. It has also been revealed a 28 year-old man has been re-arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. The arrests are in connection with the murder of Mr Parkinson, from Clifton-Upon-Teme who was found dead in a burnt out car in Ankerdine Road in Cotheridge on December 12 last year.
