MARION - Mark Street, between Ivanhoe Street and Hamilton Street, closed Tuesday for sewer repairs. It s expected to remain closed until 5 p.m. Friday.
HEAP deadline is Monday
ONTARIO - The District 5 Area Agency on Aging is reminding residents that May 31 is the deadline to apply for help paying winter heating bills through Ohio s Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP).
You can fill out the application by calling the Area Agency at 419-524-4144 or 800-860-5799 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Anyone age 18 and older may apply for this assistance. Those 60 & over can get assistance with filling out the application. All heating types are eligible for energy assistance programs.

‘Exuberant Portrush youngsters were let loose amongst the Zoo’s wildlife’
Former Coleraine Chronicle editor and author Hugh McGrattan reckons that May 24 doesn’t immediately spring to mind as an important date in the seaside resort’s esteemed past.
But as Hugh now reminisces on the rest of today’s page, for many years most Portrush people, particularly the children, looked forward to May 24 with pleasurable anticipation. It was known as Portrush General Holiday, the annual day off, applicable only to the town’s residents.
It was a greatly appreciated breather before days off would be impossible with the influx of summer visitors by car, train, bus and regular ferries like the Scotch boat.

Subscriber only A young man has been charged with eight offences after he allegedly crashed into a parked car in Gracemere on Tuesday night. Emergency services were called to the crash on Ranger Street and Mark Street about 11.35pm. According to a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman, police took the driver, a 19-year-old Shepparton man, into custody and conducted a breath analysis. He was charged with two counts of obstruct police officer and one count each of unlawful use of a vehicle, drive without due care or attention, failed to comply with licence requirements, failed to comply with duties of driver involved in a crash, public nuisance, and drink driving.

LOCK HAVEN According to the Lock Haven Police Department’s Facebook page, it has received several fraud/theft complaints regarding gift cards.
Police say that if someone text or emails you and asks you to purchase any gift cards then send pictures of the codes, this is a scam. The emails or texts will appear to come from someone you know but it’s not really them. The most common gift cards requested are Google Play and Apple.
One-vehicle crash
MILL HALL A one-vehicle crash was investigated by state police at Lamar on April 27.
According to police, Alyssa Simmons, 20, of Loganton was traveling South on Back Lane, a paved, one-lane roadway. Police say that Simmons lost control of her 2005 Subaru Legacy and struck s metal trailer. Following that impact, she continued on, hitting a tree and a wood pile. She then traveled North on Skaar Lane before making a left turn onto Creek Road.
