New YPD Chief Mark Gilman is homegrown, ready to tackle tough issues

For the past two weeks, Gilman has assisted the YPD as a consultant before officially being sworn in Monday morning.  Gilman was raised in Yreka and graduated from Yreka High School in 1984. He said he loves his community and wants to help out any way he can. His goal is to serve the department and citizens of Yreka while ensuring the department addresses and deals with concerns. “It was important for me to help the city when the call came,” Gilman said. The Yreka PD was my family for 26 years. . I am proud of being from Siskiyou County and care about the people here.
