Heaven gained a wonderful man as Earsel H. Stemple, 96, of Buckhannon, awakened to eternal life on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020. He passed at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown and under the compassionate care of WVU Medicine Hospice.
He was born in Philippi on Oct. 16, 1924, a son of the late Glen Andrew and Oda Faye Murphy Stemple.
On Sept. 6, 1944, all of Earsel’s dreams came true when he married the love of his life, Mardell Snyder. Together they remained united in marriage for 76 amazing years and shared the joys of raising their three daughters.

Despite dwindling membership, some Free Masons in Central Texas are optimistic about the future

WACO, TX â 25 News recently reported the concerning decline in Masonic membership and the concern some Masons feel over their future. Since that time, several Mason has reached out to share a different perspective about why they re optimistic for the future.
Masons of the Baylor Masonic Lodge #1235 in Waco say that while there s certainly been a decline in numbers from a long-term perspective, there s also been an improvement in the organization s ability to attract younger talent. We are very excited about the things going on in our lodge right now, Past Master Scott Irwin said.

From dropping out of high school my junior to enlist in 1973 as a 17 year old airborne infantryman to working for two Four Star Generals (Commander in Chief-Korea), and (3-star) Commander XVIII Airborne Corps Secretary General Staff as well as the Stenographer for the Commander, 82d Airborne Division. I had the life you could dream about and books be written!
I am also retired Foreign Service with the US Department of State as an Information Management Specialist. My combined military and foreign service is just over 33-years total. I am not a double dipper.
