Dryden Chamber
The new manager of the Dryden District Chamber of Commerce has already hit the ground running.
Just a few days on the job Natalie Marcinkowski is already working with her board to develop short and long term strategies.
“Right now I’m working on increasing our online presence and this includes a brand new, modern website that fits in with my vision for the Chamber. I would say it’s more important then ever to have a strong online presence.”
Marcinkowski adds, “I also plan to be more active on social media. Not only with just showcasing our members but even just some casual, engaging content. Just to let everybody know that we’re here. We want to hear from you.”

The Mayor of Sioux Lookout is asking everyone to remain vigilant as COVID vaccinations are on hold right now due to a shortage in Moderna doses in our area.
Doug Lawrance is a member of the Municipal COVID Coordination Committee and says they have met four times.
Lawrance notes the vaccination rollout is complex and unpredictable.
He also delivered an important message in a video address to the community.
“We do need to remember to be patient. To be patient to wait our turn to be vaccinated. And to be patient and kind to our public health workers and others who are themselves navigating a situation and system that is constantly changing.”
As of Saturday the entire province could be in the Grey-Lockdown zone. At least one report indicates the provincial government will put all of Ontario.

Another attempt is being made by Dryden Community Funeral Home to build a crematorium on their Grand Trunk Avenue property.
A virtual public meeting was held Monday to gather input and information on a rezoning application.
The nearly 3 hour meeting included views from both sides with concerns on location, noise and environment.
The crematorium would be an addition to the exisiting building and would be designed for both humans and pets, as staff say they’re hoping to meet rising demands.
Phil Savage spoke on behalf of the applicant and says they currently have to travel to Beausejour, Manitoba or Thunder Bay.
