A RESIDENT has been banned from driving for 18 months and hit with a £320 fine. Mariesa Buckingham, 42, of Gleaston Avenue, Barrow, was caught driving whilst over the legal limit of alcohol in Barrow on Thursday July 8, 2021. Buckingham pleaded guilty to the charge at South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Thursday, before her sentencing by magistrates.

A MAN accused of making indecent images of children is due to appear in court. Michael Swidenbank is said to have made 93 indecent images between October 15 2017 and July 9 2020. The 60-year-old, of Lawson Street in Barrow, faces three charges related to the images, alleged to have been made in Kendal. He is to face South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
