Eastern Division police are investigating the death of 68-year-old Kumar Baran.
Baran of Cunapo Southern Main Road, Sangre Grande, was killed on Saturday morning when he was attacked by bees.
At the time, he was with a group of friends who were walking through a forested area along Jagruma River in Biche.
They were on a fishing expedition.
They told police that around 9am, they were attacked by a group of bees and members of the group fled to the roadway.
They were stung several times.
However, when a headcount was done, it was soon realised Baran was missing.
The police were notified and a team of officers led by Cpl Manickram, along with personnel of the Ministry of Agriculture Department, El Reposo, Sangre Grande Bee Section which was led by Narine Doodnath, responded.
