The sense of pure elation was palpable Thursday evening as members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra walked onstage to perform their first concert before a live audience in more than 14 months.

In late May, for the first time in 14 months, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will perform before a live audience in Orchestra Hall. “We are truly delighted to welcome audiences back to Symphony Center…. to begin safely sharing the joy of live music with the community again,” said CSO President Jeff Alexander.
Over three consecutive weekends between May 27 through June 13, the CSO will offer three distinct programs for brass and percussion, string ensembles, and orchestra, led by conductors Michael Mulcahy, Erina Yashima, and Edo de Waart.
